About Living Wide

So how did this all start and what does it mean to live wide? To be perfectly honest, I haven’t gotten that all figured out just yet. I started this blog so I could chronicle my journey of this elusive idea. For some, it’s not so enigmatic. They blessedly have a predisposition to not see the obstacles, to regularly throw caution to the wind and say, “Why not?”

And though I’ve had flashes of that in my life, they’ve become fewer and much further between. Okay, let’s call it what it is, I’m in a rut. A “Groundhog Day” of sorts where I’m regularly making the “right decisions,” and being the dutiful soldier. But for whom am I doing this? Who is watching me mark things off my life’s to-do list? And by the way, where did this list come from? These are all questions I hope to answer.

Over the course of the next year, I plan to chase after this idea of living wide. I plan to push against my own DNA and be one of those people who says, “Why not?” It’s time to stop worrying about the destination, and focus on the getting there. Join me for the ride won’t you?

If God is your co-pilot, switch seats.
